Probably the most exciting, consecutive three and a half hours aboard the ship was spent in the Casino for a slot tournament! It all started with Della getting on "the board" with a score of 1450 (#5 machine, ranking of 4th place of 8). Top score was received from the FIRST round by Burley, 3118 (#2 machine). But the FUN was with AMY! Amy also received her score of 1710, second place (#4 machine) during the first round. Several rounds took place before Della was knocked off the board. Della and the cashier, Anca, got to be pretty good buddies before it was all over.
At 3:15 it was announced that the last round of the competition was to begin. Della spent her last $20 for one last chance to get on the board. UNFORTUNATELY, if Della got on the board, it would knock Amy off. Several other attempts had failed at getting Della on the board and Amy was NOT one of her fans <LOL>... but a few had been watching and saw the competition. Della? All she wanted was that @#$% ship on a stick (say that fast a few times and it ain't SHIP on a stick). The coveted 24K gold (genuine plastic) "Ship On A Stick." The final competition round began.... and KAZAAAAAAAAAAM.... Della got RED WHITE BLUE 7's (1000) to get her in the running. The crowd was roaring!!! The 7's kept coming... and, low and behold ($120 later).......... she WAS ON THE BOARD WITH 2290... putting her in second place behind Burley! No, she didn't win...she came in 4th... and all she got was a silly T-Shirt (and 500 points put on my card... and Anca gave her two decks of Carnival Casino used cards). But it was FUN from start to finish! Thanks, Amy, for making it so much fun for us and everyone watching!

VARIABLES: (1) Had Amy NOT been knocked off the board by Della and (2) had she played on her originally machine (like most did), Amy would have won the tournament ($500, 5000 points on her card, T-Shirt, bag of goodies AND the coveted Ship on a Stick). (3) If frogs had wings they wouldn't bump their a$$. |
By the way, Ruby was also the first person onboard we met!
