Fruit `A La Mode

20-ounce can frozen, pitted, tart red
cherries, thawed |

10-ounce package frozen peach slices, thawed |
1/4 |
cup sugar |

inches stick cinnamon |
1/2 |
teaspoon whole cloves |

Few drops of red food coloring |

pint vanilla ice cream |

Makes:
6 servings

Drain
thawed fruits, reserving syrups. In saucepan combine
reserved syrups, sugar, stick cinnamon, whole cloves, and
food coloring. Bring mixture to boiling; reduce heat.
Simmer, uncovered, for 10 minutes; strain,. Place
cherries and peach slices in medium-sized bowl; pour
syrup mixture over fruit. Cover and chill for 6 to 24
hours; still fruit occasionally. |

Spoon fruit mixture into individual dessert dishes;
top each serving with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. |
